WATER FILTERS

From one faucet to whole house, we offer a broad range of water filters that help remove sand, dirt, sediment and chlorine from your water. Such filtration limits your exposure to the harsh effects that chlorine and other chemicals can have on your skin, hair, dishware, etc. Our technicians can provide options to improve the quality of your water and suit the needs of yourself, family and/or business.

While harmful bacteria present in water are removed by municipal water companies, there is a considerable amount of contaminants that remain. In fact, in a recent study by the Environmental Working Group, water suppliers detected as many as 316 contaminants in water delivered to the public. The Environmental Protection Agency has enforceable standards for only 114 of those pollutants.

Though as Americans we have the safest water in the world, there are many chemicals added by municipal water companies in the purification process that can have harmful effects.
The following is a list of chemicals that are often present in municipal water supplies that may have harsh effects on your quality of life:

  • Chlorine
  • Sand
  • Dirt
  • Sediment
  • Fluoride

Such chemicals can be detrimental to your skin, hair and more. The simplest way to ensure that you and your family are drinking, bathing, washing clothes, etc. with the cleanest water possible is to install a water filter in your home.

At Smart Plumbing, we offer a variety of water filters capable of removing many known contaminants from your water.

  • Carbon Water Filters
  • Ceramic Water Filters
  • Reverse Osmosis Water Filters
  • Combination Systems

WATER SOFTENERS

Small Plumbing, Inc.

We offer a variety of water softening products for both residential and commercial customers that remove “hard” minerals such as calcium, magnesium and sulfur. Without hard minerals, soft water causes less damage to many items in your home like your dishwasher and water heater. In addition, soft water will allow you to use less detergent and won’t leave stains or residue on your fixtures, tile and glassware. Our water softening products are also better for your skin as soft water is more effective in reducing soap scum that can coat your skin and clog your pores.

Why is soft water preferred?

There are elements inherent in hard water that can be damaging to various fixtures in your home. “Hard” minerals such as calcium, magnesium and sulfur can cause buildup, residue and soap scum on appliances, dishware and water heaters. Soft water can also be less damaging to hair as hard water can cause it to feel sticky and appear dull.

When heated, minerals inherent in hard water can re-crystallize and leave residue and scale on the interior of piping, reducing water flow and eventually causing clogging. Such scale is also damaging to water-heating appliances, including dishwashers and coffee makers.

Further, hard water deposits left on the interior surfaces of water heaters can cause damage to the heater over time. According to a study by the Water Quality Research Council at New Mexico State, water heaters with scale buildup caused by hard water used more energy to deliver hot water than heaters without such buildup. In fact, the water heaters with hard-water scale operated roughly 22% - 30% less efficiently than those without it.

At Smart Plumbing, we offer a variety of water softening products that can help improve the quality of your water and lengthen the life of your appliances and glassware. Our technicians are experienced in giving our customers options that best suit their specific needs.

BENEFITS OF SOFT WATER:
  • Less damage to appliances and glassware
  • Increased energy savings
  • Items are left cleaner with less soap scum
  • Hair will appear healthier
  • Skin and clothes feel softer

WATER HEATERS / BOILERS

We offer a broad range of water heaters for both residential and commercial customers. From gas and electric to tankless and solar, the technicians at Smart Plumbing can determine what size, model, style, warranty and efficiency will work best for you. Whether you need to abide by certain state or federal regulations for your company’s water or you’re simply looking to conserve water and help your household perform more efficiently, our plumbers can give you options and help you decide what water heater is best for you.

Go tankless with Smart Plumbing

Tankless water heaters work by heating water as fast as the water flows through the heater — virtually producing an endless amount of hot water.

Small Plumbing, Inc.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
  • Up to $1500 Federal tax credit
  • Conserves energy by using less fuel
  • Requires less space
  • Takes less time to heat water
  • Last longer than the average heater
  • Endless amount of hot water
TYPES OF WATER HEATERS
  • Tankless
Different than conventional water heaters, these heaters only heat water when a fixture is in use, as opposed to storing hot water at all times. Tankless water heaters instantly heat water as it’s being used, taking less time to heat water than other types of heaters. Because they don’t run all the time, they save more energy than other types of heaters.
  • Electric Tank
This type of water heater uses household electricity to heat water. They are not as efficient as gas water heaters and they take longer to heat water.
  • Gas Tank
Gas water heaters are efficient and economical and we have many models and options available for gas tank type water heaters.
  • Solar
Solar water heaters retain heat from the sun and transfer it to a stored water supply. They are an energy-effective option.
  • Hybrid Tank/Tankless
Hybrid water heaters integrate technology from both tankless and tank-type water heaters. This type of heater draws warmth from air into the heater and transfers it into the water. It also utilizes electric water heating elements. Hybrid water heaters require less energy than other types of heaters.
